Walking Gospel Incorporated was founded in 2018 by Kara Palmer with one mission: Walk the Gospel in culturally relevant ways. Kara believed that if the world continued to see a faith that talked more than it walked, then Christianity would work in opposition to its efforts, instead of drawing people in. “My idea was simple,” she said. “Walk Jesus to the world through the culture. This is done with your feet. It is done through your actions and how you live your life. It is less about what you say and more about what you do.” Kara thought, “if people never come to a church, how will they learn the gospel, how will they hear about the goodness of God.”
Thus, Walking Gospel was birthed. “The Gospel must be taken to the culture”, she says. “It cannot remain in church buildings without penetrating the communities and places where the majority of the people commune. We, the church, must stay relatable, approachable and relevant.”
Kara, an avid yogi, knew yoga was a ripe community for sharing about the Gospel. Her yoga studio, The Yoga Hive in Daphne, Alabama, is headquarters for her Christian yoga ministry. Additionally, Walking Gospel has two other footprints to the corporation. Walking Gospel Apparel will be coming soon along with Walking Gospel Books & Inspiration which encourages believers in their relationship with Christ through blogs, bible studies and conferences.
