They say, “Teach from what you know.” I know this. Had I not suffered immensely, I would not know God deeply.

Over the next few months and years, I will work to share the revelation of God that came to me through the pain. In my suffering, I lost a lot. I lost my friends, my confidence, my money, my identity, my power, my community. What I am comfortable sharing today is that I also lost my voice. When you lose the ability to speak, whether consciously or unconsciously, an internal death occurs.

“Every SINGLE one of the promises of God WILL change your life. So DO NOT lose your hope or your faith.

If the enemy cannot steal your faith, he will try to take your perspective. Don’t lose your perspective on who he is and what he says he will do. Walk in this truth,

‘Greater joy have I none than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.’ 3 John 1:4

All is coming. His timing is a precious one.”

So, friends, I dare you to fall in love. Fall in love with Jesus. Take your grieving, your brokenness, your “I can’t take one more moment” feelings to the one and only thing that will ever satisfy you. His love.

Becoming who we are meant to be? 

Funny how that happens in midlife when you are utterly exhausted from keeping up with everything you thought you should be. Exhausted from playing a role for so long that your soul taps you on the shoulder one day and asks you if you are ready to get real or not. And you can choose to keep running and keep performing or you can lay it all down and finally get real with who God created you to be. 

“Oftentimes, many times, it’s our prideful human nature to double down on our traditions and what we believe is true. Offense blinds us to the human condition and to other’s experience. It leaves us fighting to be right instead of holy.“

We cannot change the world if we don’t change ourselves.

Discrimination is anti-gospel and anti-Jesus.

Period.

“Our Father sees our work. He is joyfully smiling and clapping for us as we work to do his will. He is our cheerleader, our encourager, and the wind beneath our wings (Thanks Bette Midler). He is the one saying, “keep on dancing in your holy circle, this is what I made you for.”

During times such as this, weeds and wheat will be planted. Weeds of fear and panic rush through our minds and devices like never before. However, just as darkness will keep growing as we know those pesky weeds do, so will those seeds of wheat. The wheats of faith, endurance, resilience, grace, and love.

The worship was a surrendering of my own effort to control and a lifting up of the name of the one who can and will open the path and the doors for me. My praise at that exact moment did not change the outcome of my problem. It did, however, change how I chose to relate to the problem as my current momentary affliction was swallowed up by praise.

Daily God is telling us of our treasures and daily we fight the willingness and ability to seek the hidden. However, even if we have to get the heavy artillery out, when we peel back the layers of our pride and ego, then eventually we find that gem that is promised to us.

“When our spirit comes in contact with the Almighty Glory of God, instantaneously we WILL drop to our knees. There is no forethought, no “God, is that you question?” Your spirit and my spirit will bow in the presence of our Creator. We couldn’t stop the bow if we tried.”

I heard the quote recently from Aaron & Shauna Neiquist that said, “I AM FEWER BUT DEEPER.” It deeply resonated with me. Saying “No” will lead me with fewer invites, fewer friends, fewer opportunities. However, my “No” will also open up the right things and the right relationships. It will leave me with fewer but the items that are left will be deep and rich

I think most of us can agree that God speaking to us seems a little out there, right? There are millions of people in the world, how can God speak to me? How can he hear my prayers amongst all the others? Well, it just might take a radical and obvious experience to help you and me believe.

If you are like me at all AnchorMan is one of my all-time favorite movies. I like to live my life by inserting specific quotes from the movie in my day to day life. One, in particular, is my favorite, which I pull out any time I attempt to run. Yes, that’s right, it’s about Yogging. The quote goes something like this:

I was chosen to experience the earthly suffering because the kingdom nearness and spaces where the Spirit of God flooded my flesh was preparing me for a future not possible without God.
